This is my very first book tag so I figured 20 questions would be a good place to start.
Hopefully this will help you get to know me, and my reading tastes a little bit.
HOW MANY BOOKS IS TOO MANY BOOKS IN A SERIES?
No definite limit
I have read series that are 10 books long and still ongoing that have me wanting more, and I have also read series that are only 2 books long and that was too much. So, I think it just really depends on the subject matter of the book and how it is written. If the story is capable of going over many books without feeling stretched why not be 50 books long. lol
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CHILFFHANGERS?
Good when used right.
I think some authors have a tendency to overuse cliffhangers to the point where they will have a cliffhanger at the end of each pov. I think that is a little much, but when used tastefully, especially at the end of a book to leave you wanting more, I think it is a great writing tool for authors to utilize. At the end of the day writing is an author’s livelihood and if they think cliffhangers will get more people to come back and buy their next book, more power to them.
HARDBACK OR PAPERBACK?
Depends
If I had unlimited money, I would be buying nothing but hardcovers because I think we can all agree that they look much better on the shelf. That being said, for the most part I stick to paperbacks, unless it’s a series I really like, because that way I can buy more books for the same amount of money.
FAVORITE BOOK?
This is an impossible question, so I am just going to do a couple of my favorite books from the year so far.

Both of these are the most recent books in ongoing series, and I am absolutely loving them both. I have been on a little bit of a litRPG binge this year and these are two of the series that have topped my list for the whole year so far.
LEAST FAVORITE BOOK?

This is also a hard one to answer because I don’t think I have ever read a book and disliked it enough to say it my LEAST favorite book. So, instead I went to my shelf and look for a book/series that I didn’t really enjoy that much. I know some people that absolutely loved The Inheritance Trilogy, but it was always just a little blaa for me. I’m not saying that I thought it was horrible or not good writing, it just wasn’t a series that clicked for me like it seemed to do with other people.
LOVE TRIANGLES: YES OR NO?
For the majority of them, pls no
THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU JUST COULDN’T FINISH?
I have not DNFed a book that I voluntarily decided to read ever. So, probably the last book I just couldn’t finished would be something I was required to read back in high school, and honestly, I don’t really remember what books we had to read. Maybe All Quiet on the Western front?
A BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?

This is one of two books I am reading at the moment, and it is very long overdue. I read Empire of Silence over a year ago and never got around to starting the second in the series. So far it has the same vast Sci-Fi feeling that the first one gave me, and I have heard that this one is even better than the first, so I am very excited to continue to dive deeper into the world of the Sun Eater.
THE LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?

In my mind I recommend book to people every time I make a post on my bookstagram, but if we are talking actually directly recommending a book to someone it would be Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.
OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?

I guess to be fair the publication date of this particular version is not the oldest, but if we are talking the original story then The Odyssey definitely takes the win here.
NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?
This would have to be Defiance of the Fall (Book X) by TheFirstDefier aka JF Brink, since that book just came out and I immediately bought it and read it.
FAVORITE AUTHOR?
Michael J Sullivan
Another impossible question so I am going to answer it like I normally do. I am going with the author that I haven’t necessarily read the most books by but the author that I have read multiple different series by and have loved all of them. I think this is a better way to pick because it shows that I don’t just love one particular series that an author did, but that I love the writing of the author no matter the story.
BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING BOOKS?
Buying
I love adding books to my shelves and I like to be able to look back through them whenever I want to so buying is a necessity.
A BOOK THAT YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO LOVE?

This one pretty straightforward for me. Everyone seems to rave and gush over this series, and I was just sort of meeh through the whole thing.
BOOKMARKS OR DOG-EARS?
Dog-ears
I know that I will get hate for this, but it’s usually from the same people who annotate, highlight, and put sticky tabs all through their books. Which from everyone else’s perspective is somehow less damaging and permanent than folding a page corner???
A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS REREAD?

I could read this book, and really this whole series, any day of the week. There is something so calming and laid back about everyone’s favorite socially awkward cyborg that I can just read endlessly.
CAN YOU READ WHILE HEARING MUSIC?
Yes
I worked at a hockey arena for 7 years scorekeeping beer league games and spent the whole-time reading books while the games were going on. So, yes, I could read with music or really any outside noise or interference going on, but do I like to or prefer it? No.
ONE OR MULTIPLE POVS?
Either
I don’t think one is the right answer for how a book should be written and it all depends on how the author writes and is able to juggle those povs without it being overwhelming or cumbersome. So, both work well and have their moments.
DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?
Depends on how much time I have.
I would love to sit and binge through all the books I am reading but unfortunately life doesn’t always let you do that, and I don’t mind taking multiple days to read a book so either is fine with me.
A BOOK YOU’VE READ BECUASE OF THE COVER?
Every book I have read.
I don’t read synopsis or descriptions of books before buying them and buy them purely based off of the cover and the title. The only time I don’t use this method is if some recommends a book to me or I see that someone has loved a book in a post they make about it. My method hasn’t let me down in any major way yet, so I guess I’m just lucky.
The End
I hope this help anyone who reads this get to know me and my bookish tastes a little bit better. If you want any clarifications or have question, feel free to comment them below and I will answer them as best as I can.
